The Continuing Nightmares of Tara

No more Bigfoot nightmares, but now I have a new recurring nightmare. Instead of my usual "back in high school and I forgot to go to English class all year", my new nightmare is staying in a haunted B & B. There were also cars that we were hiding underwater. Soooo, what does the dream dictionary say about this one?

"To dream that you are being haunted, indicates early unpleasant traumas and repressed feelings or memories. You are experiencing some fear or guilt about your past activities and thoughts. To see a haunted car in your dream, represents unfinished goals. You had started off on a path or journey, but never reached the end. Perhaps life has taken you on a different direction than you had planned or intended." (taken from http://dreammoods.com/cgibin/dreamdictionarysearch.pl?method=exact&header=dreamsymbol&search=haunted)

So, apparently I have some unfinished business to take care of....my life is one giant unfinished pile.....

  1. First, I want to apologize for the length. But I hope this gives a bit more depth than what you found on the Internet. I know this may seem a bit too much depth for someone you only see at the Market, but I do enjoy your blogs as much as your soaps Tara.

CAR - Driving a car is indicative of how you are moving forward in your life; the road you are taking, how well you are negotiating and maneuvering. Is your car safe and comfortable, or cramped, run down, a rattletrap? (This is to indicate how well you have prepared yourself for your journey.) If you are driving, you are feeling in control of your destiny. If someone else is at the wheel taking charge of your destination, you are experiencing a loss of control. Your car symbolizes your ability to get from here to there.

HOTEL – Lodging that is just temporary. You are feeling as if you are not making a permanent commitment to something, someone. Your identity and sense of self may feel transitory. Or perhaps you just need to get away from responsibilities for awhile and gain a fresh perspective.

~My personal opinion on that one is that a B&B is much closer to homey than a hotel, but the book I used didn’t have B&B’s specifically. LoL.~

UNDER – Going beneath the surface, getting under the apparent façade, the ego, to investigate the deeper, subconscious (under) meaning. Something hidden, unseen, not readily obvious.

WATER – One of the four elements, water represents the realm of emotions. The depths of our subconscious mind. Water is our origins and our sustenance. Without water, we perish. Likewise, emotions are life-sustaining, cleansing, and healing. Emotions take physical form in the emergence of tears. We cry in grief and in joy, both are spontaneous fluid expressions of our inner emotions. We give birth with a gush of water, again a reminder of our aquatic roots. Water is life, sacred and healing.

~Another consideration for water in the dream, was it lake, river or ocean water? Were there waves or was it from rain and flooding?

I can’t even go into the haunting part, the book I have wants more details … it doesn’t have anything for simply haunting or haunted. Apparently it all depends on WHAT or WHO it is that is doing the haunting to determine the message you are telling yourself.~

  2. Very nice analysis! Hit a lot of nails on the head! I'm not actually driving the car, we are hiding the cars in these giant puddles if that makes any sense. And the haunted B & B is actually a dead relative making up my room for me. Which typing that out sounds like something from an ALfred Hitchcock movie!
